On 18th March, 1915, the 1st Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry battalion, then part of 80 Brigade, 27th Division, moved into the front line at Dickebusch, just to the south of Ypres. They were relieved on 20th March, the day on which Francis Farquhar, the battalion's commanding officer was mortally wounded. He died from his wounds on the following day. |
